Don Wagg a long time BAWA member recently passed away at age 69. He joined BAWA in the '80's. After retiring from the moving business, he started Regency Restoration Service where he refurbished and restored antique furniture. He was involved with BAWA and we toured his shop and he gave a talk on finishing. He also gave a Tech Talk on French Polishing. Don was quick witted and jovial. His sense of humor quickly became apparent when he talked. To fellow woodworkers he always emphasized "don't be afraid to experiment with finishes and techniques" as one that you try is sure to work. He took the mystery out of what, for most woodworkers, is the hardest operation in woodworking: finishing. He will be missed.
Memorial services will be held on Coast Guard Island, Alameda at 9 a.m. on December 14th. Friends are welcome.
