We will be visiting MacBeath Hardwood in Berkeley. K.E. MacBeath established this business in the early 1950's at this location. Through the years, it has expanded to 5 locations and on-line. Edinburgh, Indiana is the mother yard, feeding the other locations. Edinburgh has a kiln drying capacity of 300,000 BF with an inventory of lumber of over 5 million BF. They also do lumber grading, custom millwork, surfacing and ripping. MacBeath ships from less than a truck load to container loads worldwide.
If you have not been to the store, you will be overwhelmed with the amount of varied lumber from domestic to exotic. They also have some tools and other items for the home woodworker. We will hear all about the different types of wood and their characteristics and details on grading and other factors.
Also, hopefully we will have members' Show and Tell or jigs and fixtures. Perhaps, a Tool and Tech and Library talks.
