We will meet at 6:30 pm at the Arques School of Traditional Boat Building, located in Sausalito (www.arqueschl.org). The School's main course is a one-year apprenticeship program for up to 6 students. During the one year course, students can expect to learn boat design, lofting, and construction; hand tool use, local tree felling and lumber preparation, bronze casting, rigging, and some sailing. The school also offers other classes, i.e., small boat building, lumber harvesting, drying and applications, Japanese woodworking, celestial navigation, etc. Courses are taught by Robert Darr, Jay Van Arsdale and Rob Thompson. Robert Darr will be giving the talk at the July meeting.
