Tait Detro donated a bench plane and Ray Burger took it home for a donation to BAWA.

Featured Speaker
Jamie Buxton

Set of Chairs for the Oval Table he showed in November

One of the 4 chairs

Jamie showed slides of the dining room chairs he made for the client who had commissioned his oval dinner table.
The chairs were made with Quilted Maple backs and oval seating areas.
The four legs were mounted beneath the oval seating area ret into the curved crossbars made from bent laminations.
These are not visible unless you turn the chair upside down.

"Straight crossbars would have been too easy."

Jigs and fixtures need for the chairs

The tooling for these chairs is all custom and was discarded after the completion of the project. The seating area has three different densities of foam cushioning, covered with fabric.

Presention 1

Bruce Powell

Jig used for making over 60 bent laminated trays

Plus a box he made for his wife many years ago.

More of Bruce's work

Bruce brought in the fixture he used to make close to 60 curved laminated trays and boxes. He was hoping someone would take it off his hands, but no one was interested. He also showed a wall hanging with a shelf that he suggested was a good place to put candles. He said it did not sell well. BAWA members made suggestions for a new name and purpose for the hanging... which he was pleased with.
