President's Corner

Another year is over and we enter the 26th year of our Bay Area woodworking Association. I want to thank all our officers and active members who made our past year so successful and rewarding. I am looking forward to another exciting year with some great programs being planned by Per Madsen and his committee. I enjoyed serving our members over the past two years as president and I will continue to serve our board and new president Frank Ramsey. He is already thinking of new ideas to make our organization even better. BAWA needs more members to become involved and to voice their opinion and provide input so that we can make our meetings as enjoyable as possible for everyone. Hopefully, everyone received all the tools at Christmas that they were wishing for from their family and friends. Many of you are anxiously anticipating using your new tools to create woodworking projects that you will share with our members during our "show and tell section" of our meetings. Seeing wonderful handcrafted furniture during our meetings is probably the single most important incentive for our new members to challenge themselves to learn more woodworking skills and knowledge so that some day they can also produce heirloom quality furniture. I want to challenge all our members to make 2008 a great year to be a BAWA member and a year where all of us become better woodworkers.
