It's Party Time!

Yes, believe it or not, September is here and it's time for our annual "Fall Kickoff Party!" What a great event this will be --- fun for all! This year we're returning to the same place we held last year's. Newsletter Editor Mark Rand has already sent all members an email with the specifics. But I wanted you to know that Banquet Committee Chair Robbie Fanning has worked very hard to put together a fantastic event. In addition to securing the caterer, she'll be bringing extra party items, cake and refreshments. Although she's doing most of the work, she'll still need your help setting up and cleaning up, so show up early and help lay out table cloths, etc.! Contact her at 650/323-1183 or rfanning@mac.com.

Plus as you saw in Mark's email, this year we're going to have a competitive Show & Tell. Bring your best stuff because a prize will be given to the winner in each of two categories: Pros (anyone who sells work) and Lovers of Woodworking. Since our members are so creative, this is sure to be fun as we see what they've been working on this year.

Last, but by no means least, during the party our Shows Co-Chairs, Tony and Robbie Fanning, will be passing around a sign-up sheet for volunteers for the upcoming fall Woodworking Show at the San Mateo Fairgrounds. Membership events such as our booth at the show are one of the main ways we are able to share the good work we do with others and recruit new members, so your participation really helps. Don't be bashful. If you sign-up for a 2-hour stint at our booth, you get free admission to the show. You'll be helping BAWA grow and prosper too, so sign up!

Now on to our party! Bring your spouse, significant other, or a friend you'd like to introduce to BAWA. Be sure to give Robbie the person's name when you sign up, so a name tag can be made for them. So come join us. Bring your spouse or a guest and something you've made you want to show off and prepare to party!
