Spring Is In the Air

I can't believe it's April already! We just changed our clocks back, so spring is officially here. At my house we're still awaiting one last snowstorm -- the last two years it's come near the end of April. But the weather has been so "summerish", it doesn't seem like we will. With such nice weather, my thoughts naturally turn to sprucing up the workshop. Doin' the spring house cleaning. Ya' can open the garage door and slide the machines outside -- so the sawdust is all out there. It feels great to be working outside when the weather's so good.

And of course one wants to buy stuff! Some of you may have purchased a new tool and are itching to make a project using it. In my case, since I don't have room for any additional stationary power tools right now, I bought the entire left over inventory of screws and bolts from a hardware store going out of business. (Spring house cleaning big time?!) I got something like 300 plastic bins and little containers, holding everything from little #6 brass wood screws to ¾" x 10" long lag screws. I can use the big ones when I build my new shop. The smaller ones will be used for projects once the shop is built. But to keep it all neatly, I'll need to build another big shelving unit. I built one last year for the hardware collection that I already had. For now the bins are stacked up in the corner.

So since the weather's so nice, it's time for everyone to get out there and build their entry for the Box Contest! You have only a couple weeks left. So go buy a new tool or two, clean up your shop, but make that box! We don't care how big or small it is. Don't worry about what category it should be in. We'll have room for everybody!
