"I hope you all had the opportunity to go to the wood tool show at the San Mateo fairgrounds. If you were lucky you went on Friday when it wasn't very crowded and it was easy to ask questions at the more popular booths. Hope you brought your checkbooks. I did, and I took President Bush's advice and helped the economy. Of course Dick and I usually do that but this year it's become patriotic to spend money. We always find a few things to buy and then we wonder where to fit them in the shop. Do you have that problem? Not enough space? A year or two ago we rearranged the shop. I love the way Dick and I work --- I get the idea and he does the work. Anyway, Dick put up about 12 shelving units and I filled them --- see I do some of the work. It gave me a lot more room --- for a while. Extra space doesn't last long, does it? No matter how much you have, you seem to grow into and out of it. Maybe we should have a meeting about shop storage and organization. Everything from cabinets that go the extra mile, to ways to store small things like drill bits and router bits. I've come across some good ideas and I'll bet the rest of you have too. Let Jay know if you think this would be a good meeting." Linda Salter |
