Linda Salter says "It's a turning that was then airbrushed, pierced and cut. The 'nibs' are dots of fabric paint. The turning is time consuming because it has to be about 1/16th thick (thin?) all over so as to do the piercing. It has to be done from wood that is very green (cut no more than 48 hours before) and it has to be pretty much grainless."
